CD3 T Cell Test

Nov 10, 2013

Hello. I missed my CD4 test date.. so I had to go to a private lab and ask for one. The result they gave me is confusing, because they dont show me the CD4 count. They show me this:

LINFOCITOS T CD3 (CD4+/ CD8+). Method: Citometría flux (EPI CS)

CD3+/CD4+: 604 (490 - 1,200) /L or 22% CD3+/CD8+: 1,661 (180 - 785) /L or 67% CD4/CD8 : 0.36 (1.50 - 2.50)

Could you help me understand this? I want to know my CD4..

PD: My last CD4 was 460 4 months ago. I still dont have treatment. I am one year infected.

Thanks for the answer

Response from Dr. Holodniy

Your CD4 count is 604 and 22%. The CD8 count is 1,661. The CD3 test measures how many t cell lymphocytes there are in your blood. Both CD4 and CD8 cells are t cells. So when something is labeled CD3+/CD4+ that is still only referring to CD4 cells.
