Possibility of ARS at week 20?

May 7, 2001

Hello Dr. Holodniy! First of all thanks for the wealth of knowledge you provide. Because I come from a rural area, I simply do not have access to physicians experienced with HIV.

Here's my question: I have tested neg on Elisa at 16 weeks and am about to get tested at week 21. However, at week 20 I had a scare which I thought might be ARS (sore throat, rash on back/chest, headache, sore muscles, retinal orbital pain)

Most of what I've read on this site and others has stated the symptoms of ARS almost always present themselves 2-4 weeks after infection, however sometimes might take longer.

I your professional experience can ARS present itself at week 22/21?

Much thanks!

Response from Dr. Holodniy
