Test for HIV

Feb 17, 2013

I am detected with HIV last week. I took the test and my CD4 count is 323, Viral load is 842 and CD8 count is 1052. Should I start treatment?

Response from Dr. Holodniy

Yes. Although your HIV viral load is low, your CD4 count is also decreased (normal range 500-1500), so I would recommend starting HIV treatment.
