| confusing results Dec 16, 2012 I have absolutely no risky behavior but somehow tested positive for HIV. I am so baffled and confused. My doctor has written me off but ran the test again. I am waiting for results. I have had exposure to epstein barr; I have had swollen glands for years (behind my ears); and I have recently gotten a few staph infections. Could any of those explain a false positive? Please advise. I need some real help not a doctor that thinks I am crazy for challanging a positive hiv test result. |

Response from Dr. Holodniy
You don't indicate what HIV test was performed (only a screening test, or a screening test and confirmatory test, both of which were positive). So it is hard to interpret what these results mean. | |||||||||
