| CD4 15, WBC 2.5. Is the end near? Dec 2, 2012 Thanks for that crumb of comfort, Doc. In your experience does Neurontin alleviate neuropathy, and if a person has Aids related neuropathy, do they eventually end up in a wheelchair or bedbound and lastly, do those vitamin based treatments for neuropathy advertised help, and are they worth taking? Thank you very much for your time. |

Response from Dr. Holodniy
Yes, neurontin can be helpful, but not in everybody, and we can't predict who will respond effectively and at what dose. How significant the disability could become is again dependent on what all is going on with the person. Are there other medical conditions or medications that are making the condition worse? It is very rare to see people today become wheelchair-bound by this condition. There is no harm in taking vitamin preparations for this condition. There is also no good controlled clinical trial data to demonstrate effectiveness. | |||||||||
