| interpretation of hep b results Nov 3, 2012 sorry, i think i did not give enough information on my reesults the first time. i took the first two shots of the hep b vaccine two years ago and did not take the 3rd one.the doctor recommended i test my antibody levels. my HbsAb came out as 190.48. i just got engaged and found out my husband has high viral load of hep b(170000000 IU/ml). he has just started treatment.can we have unprotected sex? can i be infected with it since the viral load is very high? when can we start having kids?will they be infected too?please advise |

Although the antibody level is sufficiently high to confer protection, it may not be a 100%, particularly if one has unprotected sex with someone who has a viral load of 170 million copies/ml. I think it would be best to discuss this with your obstetrician and a liver specialist. | |||||||||
