| CD4 Count and Viral Load Oct 21, 2012 Six months after starting treatment my viral load went to undictatable levels and has remained there for 2 years . However 6 months after treatment the cd4 count increased from 46 to 180, in 12 months to 278, then 2 months after that it dropped to 238. What is the cause of this? Is there something i should do or eat to help increase the cd4 count. |

Response from Dr. Holodniy
The CD4 count can vary for a number of reasons including time of day, other ongoing medical conditions, after immunizations, among others. The CD4% is another number you should be following and is usually more stable over time. I suspect that your CD4% has not changed, and given your undetectable viral load, the drop in CD4 count is likely not significant. | |||||||||
