Viral load
Jul 1, 2012

I started Atripla in September last year when my viral load was 20,000 and my cd4 count was 360. By December my viral load was 100 with a cd4 count of 670. In March this year my cd4 count was 680 and my doctor told me that my viral load was 20 and therefore undetectable. My latest test this month showed my cd4 count up to 800, but my viral load is now 40. My doctor told me that I was 'borderline undetectable'. Should I be worried that my viral load has increased from 20 to 40?

Response from Dr. Holodniy

I would not be concerned. Although these results should be monitored, I don't think this represents failure of the Atripla.
