Genital herpes+ HIV
Jun 24, 2012
I'm having genital herpes prior to being infected by HIV. The ulcerations appear on prepuce. The specialist has recommended to go for circumcision to hinder the lesions from coming. He also said that periodicity of ulceration would decrease with time. I'm having recurrent ulcerations since last few months. They appear on the same region of penile skin. Would it be advisable to go for circumcision to avoid further episodes. If yes will any surgeon be willing to do surgery on a HIV+ive person. I stay in India. Will it be safe for me to undergo circumcision?

That strategy may or may not be effective. Control of HIV infection with HIV meds would be the first course of action. Chronic suppression of HSV infection would likely be the next step.
