| CD4 count variation concern Jun 23, 2012 Hi, I can see this is a common question but I wanted to ask your opinion anyway. My CD4 and T-Cell percentage numbers for my last four checks have been 475/26%, 487/27%, 594/29% and today 484/29%. Is a 100+ variation in CD4 count at all common? Should I be worried about this drop or is the T-cell % a truer indication of the state of my immune system? Many thanks. |

Response from Dr. Holodniy
I would not be concerned about the CD4 count swing for the reason you identified. Yes, there can be a 100 cell swing, as the CD4 count is variable as a result of time of day, stress, immunizations, different labs, other ongoing infections, among other reasons. | |||||||||
