Hi Dr.Mark, Recently my father has undergone a HCV RNA Quantitative test and the result was

HCV Viral Load by TAQ MAN: 182IU/ML

The test method was "HCV RNA Quantitative - COBAS Amplirep/COBAS TAQMAN 48.

Can you please let me know what is the stage of infection.

Thanks and Regards

Response from Dr. Holodniy

You don't indicate why the test was performed. That is a very low, but positive HCV viral load result, and likely means chronic infection with HCV. You need to consult with a liver specialist to see if further tests and/or treatment is indicated at this time.
