what is neutralizing antibody? I know that it starts to fight with the HIV virus at the beginning. Is this a special T cell? Thank You!
| Response from Dr. Holodniy
Neutralizing antibodies are made by b lymphocytes, in response to some kind of infection. They are not made by t cells or CD4+ t cells. Antibodies are proteins that recognize and attach or coat the infectious agent rendering it harmless.
