Consistently high CD4 and undetectable Viral Load
May 8, 2011
My adopted daughter has had consistent high CD4 counts (over 30% and now 43%) and undetectable viral loads for the past 4 years (she is 5 and has been on ARV's from about 8 months). Is it at all possible that she is not HIV +?
Response from Dr. Holodniy
I would find that exceedingly unlikely, given that she would have been placed on HIV meds for 4 years without the diagnosis being confirmed prior to that.
