really need help
Apr 10, 2011

I am 39 years old and have Herpes Simplex II. I have in the past had homo and hetero sex (always protected and no damage to the condom). I have not had homo sex for about 1 year. I did have hetero oral sex with a lady that I did not know her status about 1 month before the HIV test. She performed on me. I had an HIV test done and it came back indeterminate with P24 present abnormal. HELP!! I have a appointment set with an infectious disease dr next week.

What could cause the presence of p24? What are the chances that I am HIV positive?

Response from Dr. Holodniy

You need to have repeat HIV testing and keep your appointment next week.
