Lab test of cd3+4+
Jan 15, 2011

I just moved to a new state and new dr who is not familiar with hiv+ test or results. I was diagnosed 16yrs ago and have not taken meds at all. I just showed up with a viral load of 200 but new lab results are confusing for me to read. I am used to reports that show cd4 tcells as cd4, however the new lab reports read very different it shows as cd3+4+ so is this my absoulte cd4 or a combination of the 2 please help me as my new dr said he does not know...

Response from Dr. Holodniy

CD3CD4 cells are your CD4 cells. So no worries. The two numbers indicate the number of t-lymphocytes which are t helper cells.
