HBV Viral Load and having HBV for 40 yrs
Nov 27, 2010

I have had HBV for 40 years, transfusion of tainted blood at birth. I have a viral load count of 547 and it was 345 three months ago, any concern here? I am thinking about starting a family with my wife, and I am now 40, how can I keep this HBV in check, so that I can be here for my new family.

Response from Dr. Holodniy

That is not really a significant difference between those two viral load values. You don't indicate whether you have been offered or had any HBV specific treatment. You may want to discuss your situation with a liver specialist.
