Would like to know the HIV stage and possible treatment?

May 30, 2010

The CD4/CD8 Count: CD3 count: 2918.40 Lab results: --------------

% of cd4 = 20.41% Absolute cd4 count = 595.78 % of cd8 = 70.80% Absolute cd8 count = 2066.37 cd4/cd8 ratio = 0.29 ------

Haemoglobin = 15.2 RBC = 4.90 WBC = 6100

So what stage is the hiv? Is is treatable?

Response from Dr. Holodniy

Your CD4 count is in the normal range (500-1500), but your CD4% is moderately depressed (normal 30-50%). Your CD8 count and percent are elevated, which is an indication of your immune system reaction to HIV infection. Your other blood cell counts are normal. These results indicate some immune system impairment but certainly not advanced HIV infection.
