side effects
Feb 21, 2010

i am a male and have been taking sustiva [with kivexa] for 3 years and am doing really good in my periodic reviews . my partner has been taking kaletra and combiv. but for the past year or so her breasts has started swealing and getting bigger . she has gone up 2 braa sizes since then. her doctors is set to change her to sustiva as one of the drugs. the doctor said he doesnt have an idea whats causing this breast problem. but me and my partner have been trying for a baby so we have not been using condoms . so my question to u is- is they any chance the sustiva i am taking been transfered to my partner in the sperms hence causing these breast swealing. how much cross transfer of medication between male and female happens thru sperm deposits. i have been reading much about sustiva and got the feeling it doesnt make breast swealing anybetter . thanks for reading my post .

Response from Dr. Holodniy

Although there is no data to answer your question, it is unlikely that the small amount of sustiva that could possibly be in semen would be causing her breast enlargement.
