Cd4 count

Jan 10, 2010

Dr, i have been living with my virus for 10yrs going for 11 this year. Since i found out in '99 i ran for dear life cos the sister was not so friendly until late last year i did my counts at the clinic. I m not on meds but have tried all sorts of remedies(am an African) . Today i got results dat my counts are on 1076 & am STI free. Dr, to tell u the truth, in all those yrs, i never used protection(i know its wrong), he is NEGATIVE and the Dr's did all sorts of test on him and they all came clean. Clinic doesn't do VL cos its expensive so am still to do it. I wonder what is the normal cd4 of a clean person?? I promise to be more responsible for 2010 hence i did them.

Response from Dr. Holodniy

The normal range for CD4 counts is 500-1500.

Low T-Cells, undectable VL
Difference between VL Not Detected & VL <20cp/ml
