|CD4 increase and Viral load undetectable
Nov 29, 2009
I have been recently diagnosed positive and on my first test i had around 3700 viral load and 553 CD4 count... when i went back 3 months later, it was around 650 CD4 count and undetectable viral load. now the doctor said these kind of results don't show unless someone is on medication and accused me of taking someone else's medication! I have not taken anything besides the odd panadol and havent changed my lifestyle or eating habits. Is there a scientific explanation for this?

Other than meds, the only other plausible explanation is acute infection where the first viral load was already coming down from higher levels and now your viral load has become undetectable because your immune system has contained the infection on its own.
