am I a dead man

Nov 29, 2009

Dr. Holodniy

Hello Dr. My hiv infection is not detected by pcr rna, or bdna. It also cannot be pheno/genotype for drug resistance. I am very symptomatic and have a low cd4 count. What can I do. Am I a goner.

Thank you

Response from Dr. Holodniy

You don't indicate what your current CD4 count is. Assuming confirmed HIV infection by western blot and a CD4 count < 350, regardless of viral load, HIV treatment is likely indicated.
