CD8 and CD8%
Nov 22, 2009
I have never understood the cd8 number and what the percentage means. Can you answer generally what they are used for and why they are valuable? If you could comment specifically on my latest lab numbers that would be great.

Response from Dr. Holodniy
In many people with HIV infection, the CD8 count and percent increase as a reaction to the infection. CD8 cells are the major type of cell involved with controlling the infection. So that is why you see an increase.
