| Some info on resources in Thailand Nov 14, 2009 Someone recently asked about CD4/vl testing and meds in Thailand. I have answers from my own experience in Bangkok. I am a foreigner and was first diagnosed HIV+ at BNH Hospital in Bangkok. This is one of the most popular expat hospitals in town. I made no appointment and had the test result 2 hours later. I could have had CD4, VL etc. etc. testing the following day if I'd wanted to but had to leave town for a couple of weeks and then had full labwork done. The point is, service can be very quick. I also get international standard HAART meds from there. The specialists are very good, many have US training. Costs are low enough I think. An equal alternative is bangkok's Bumrungrad Hospital, another expat favourite but I haven't been there. it is said to be a little cheaper. I'd recommend emailing both hospitals with your questions or just turn up. |
