drastic drop in cd4 viral load undetected
Nov 14, 2009

in feb i started truvada and stocrin, cd 4 was 40, viral load extremely high, in april cd 4 shot up to 840, viral load 60, Now cd 4 is 90 and viral load undetected. What does this mean?

Response from Dr. Holodniy

I think that the CD4 count of 840 was a mistake. It is great your viral load is undetectable and I suspect the CD4 count of 90 was more realistic and will continue to climb slowly. The lower your CD4 count is when you start HIV treatment the longer it may take to increase.
