| Starting Meds Oct 18, 2009 I have been HIV positive for about 5-6 years, have never been on meds before. This summer I was tested and my CD count is 294 as of July and my viral load is something like 27,000 I think. My dr. is running one more set of labs to see if my CD count has changed. She said that if it has dropped or stayed the same, they will start me on meds in 3 weeks. In the meantime, I am taking 1000-2000 mcg of B-12 daily, as well as Centrum multivitamin. Do I have time to bring up my CD count before my next doctor visit? I am concerned about it dropping more. |

I agree with your doctor and you are likely starting HIV meds soon. It is unlikely that multivitamins or B12 supplementation will increase your CD4 count significantly to delay that treatment decision. | ||||||||||
