Excellent labs and the need for flu shots
Oct 4, 2009

My partner's labs indicate CD4 of 1,014 44% and viral load was undectable at <48. With his or anyone else's CD4 this high and viral load undectable would you still say a person's immune system is suppressed and is a flu shot really necessary? He has no other health issues. Thank you

Response from Dr. Holodniy

There is likely minimal, but some immune damage. However, a regular, seasonal flu shot, and the H1N1 flu shot when available are both highly recommended, regardless of where one is on the HIV spectrum.
