Lipo still an issue with the new meds?
Sep 20, 2009

my doctor told me that the current most prescribed meds are not linked to lipodystrophy or lipoatrophy and to not be concerned about it. should i trust him? is it correct to say that it was a side effect of old drugs and that it is no more an issue with the modern ones?

Response from Dr. Holodniy

That is likely a true statement, but as more and more people are put on the newest HIV drugs and remain on them for a longer period of time, we will know more that may not have been seen during the clinical trials that lead to these drugs approval.
