I tested positive, but my partner is negative Jul 11, 2009 I recently tested positive for HIV. It has been a very long time since my last test, so I am not sure how long I have had the virus. I hit all 10 bands on the Western Blot. My initial counts taken last week were CD4 400, viral load 32,000. My partner and I have been having unprotected sex for over two years, yet he tested negative. I have not had sex with anyone but him in the past two years. He stepped out a few months ago, which prompted getting tested. Neither of us has experienced the symptoms of seroconversion. Since my diagnosis we are only engaging in safe sex, but I don't understand why he hasnt contracted the virus. Any idea from my counts how long I have been infected? |
