PCR real time
Jun 28, 2009

I got aresult of PCR RNA real time ( 40-10000000) undetectable for about 5 times last two years . I made a one last week the result come PCR RT RNA = 36 positive Is it possible to write a result < 40 at lab report . I asked one doctor there they said PCR RT we have is very new kit and can read below 25 copies . Is there such PCR in market and Is my result considered positive or undetectable in this case

Response from Dr. Holodniy

Undetectable by the assay definition. and that is what we use clinically to follow patients. That however, does not necessarily mean undetectable biologically.
