| Elisa Indeterminate then Positive, waiting on Western Apr 5, 2009 Dear Dr., I am writing because I am very concerned. Last week I tested Indeterminate in an ELISa and when retested it came POSITIVE. I am currently waiting for my Western Blot results. Did myself a CD4 count. Results where as follows: 295 CD4, 778 CD8 and ratio 0.38. I got very scared when looking at this numbers. Last year on or around August I had a rash/fever condition. Doctor said it looked liked something viral, maybe herpes. Lab analisis came back Positive for Influenza. Did not check for HIV. My last HIV check-up was on Dec 2007 and came negative. For the past 3 motnhs Ive been having lots of phlegm, runny nose and lately swollen lymph glands around the neck area. Whenever I dont think about his I feel fine, and when I do get worried I feel hot, and a bit weak. I know I should wait for my WB results, but I was wondering, is there a possibility of them being negative? I read that influenza vaccine could cause false positive. If i had influenza last year could this have affected my results? I also had my rounds of Hepatitis B vaccine on 2005. Any other useful info or tips? |
