RPR result
Mar 22, 2009

I had a test for RPR for my syphilis last February and it says 1:8. Then I had some shots of penicillin and taken some doxyxycline. After a month, March, I had my test again and the result is 1:4. I would like to ask if there is an improvement in the treatment of my syphilis? Do I have to continue the penicillin shots and medicines?

Response from Dr. Holodniy

You should be done with treatment. I would not worry about the RPR result. It is too early to determine the treatment response.
