|follow up on blips

After being undetectable (checked every three months)does every viral load bump need to be checked out wait within a month to show it's only a blip or can one wait till the next three month check up. I have to travel over an hour to get to my HIV clinic, just got to undetectable but already have had one proven blip.

Great question. It partly depends on how long someone has been undetectable, how faithful they are in taking their HIV meds, what their CD4 count is, how high the blip was, the type of viral load test being used, among other factors. In many folks, I don't immediately retest. But in some, if I am concerned about some of these other factors, I do.
