Detectable <40 Mar 8, 2009 I am rather confused. For a number of years my VL has been undetectable <40. Today I was told it was detectable <40. If 40 is the "cut off point" for the equipment measuring how can it be detectable <40? I hope my question makes sense. Do I need to be concerned? Does this mean my meds are failing? Thanks |

 No, your meds are not failing and I would not be concerned. The difference in interpretation is a semantic one. Undetectable below 40 does not mean zero. It means that the variability around 40 is such that you cannot give a credible result below 40. | ||||||||
