t cells
Mar 1, 2009

I am still really confused about what is normal and what is not. My Tcell counts started around 230 and then I was put on Atripla and my t cell count is now 600-680. my viral load has always been undetectable. But my tcells have stayed in this range for 2years and have not increased. Is this normal?

Response from Dr. Holodniy

Yes. Your current count is in the normal range (500-1500) in people without HIV infection. We don't normally get CD4 counts in people without HIV infection, so we don't know what your preinfection count might have been. So the 600-700 range may be your normal and so you won't see it change much.
