Chinese HIV Tests
Feb 15, 2009

Hello:

We just received translated medical records for a Chinese baby girl we're planning to adopt, but no one seems to know what the HIV test results mean.

There are 2 numbers

Positive Comparison: 1.712 Negative Comparison: 0.11

Our pediatrician isn't familiar with this format. Can you help?

Thank you!

Response from Dr. Holodniy

I have no idea what that means. I don't know if these are positive and negative control tests, and not the actual patient result, or a true positive result. In addition, there is no description of what the test is or what it is measuring.
