|Effect of High-Dose Prednisone on Hep B Seroconversion
Nov 22, 2008
Lab results went from HBV DNA Ultra (Corrected) 2,260 IU/ml HBV DNA detected to two weeks later Anti-DNA Screen Non-Reactive while on high-dose prednisone for another condition. What does this mean? During the weaning process from the prednisone, results were HBsAg confirmation, Pos/Abnormal; Hep B Core Ab, Igm Neg; Hep B Core Ab, Tot Pos/Abnormal; Hep B Ab Pos/Abnormal; Heb B surface Ab 0.33 Inconsistent with immunity. The very first lab also had Hep Be Positive, HBs Positive and HBCore(Igm) not tested. Please help explain all this -- I am no longer taking the immunosuppressant!

I think you need a gastroenterologist or liver specialist to sort this out.
