ABC/TDF/LPV or ATV against 130/108/184/215 ?
Oct 26, 2008

Dear Doc

Would this combos be a fine choice for a naive patient harboring the following mutations: 103/108/184/215

ABC + TDF + (LPV or ATV) or Selzentry + TDF + PI/r

Or is the best choice among TDF + FTC + PI/r or Insentress + Intelence + DRV ?

Thanks!

Response from Dr. Holodniy

Assuming there are no protease gene mutations and what you listed were the only ones present, then any ritonavir boosted PI will work. Selzentry would require a tropism assay first to make sure that you only have the R5 type of virus. Issentress and Intelence would both have complete activity. TDF and ABC should have relatively good activity. The virus would be resistant to FTC. Insentress + Intelence + DRV/r has been studied together and would have excellent potency against this virus.
