| LIver function not normal, HELP!!! Oct 26, 2008 I have been positive for 22 years and in really good health. Have been on and off Kaletra and Truvada for the past 4 years. Just recently got my lab results back and my liver function numbers are as follows: AST - 94 (normal range 0-40); and ALT - 63 (normal range 0-55). What do these mean? My doctor drew more blood complete with Hep panel, toxo, cmv, etc. What is going on? Is there sludge in my gall bladder?? HELP PLEASE!!!!!! No Liver and Onions for Me, thanks!! |

Response from Dr. Holodniy
Yes, your liver enzyme levels are modestly elevated. There are a thousand reasons why this might be (i.e., medications, other infections, alcohol consumption to name a few). Assuming your prior tests were in the normal range, your doctor was correct to look for evidence of other infections that might be causing this. | |||||||||
