WESTERN INDETERMINATE
Sep 27, 2008

I have gp160, p24, p55 and p68 + on Western Blot. In Brazil, to be considered positive, I should have GP120 also or gp41. Are the env usually the last onde to appear? If gp120 or g41 remains indeterminate for 6 months does it means inffection by another virus? Does PCR always confirm an indeterminate Western? Thanks!

Response from Dr. Holodniy

I am not sure how that result could be considered indeterminate. A repeat after a month or so would be indicated.
