Recent infection?

Aug 10, 2008

My girlfriend and I both tested HIV+ in June 2008. I believe she infected me, we've been together about 16 months. We got our labs back, my viral load is 19,000 and CD4 350 and hers are 665 and 2,900. What does this mean? That I've had the virus longer than she? So did I infect her?

Response from Dr. Holodniy

No. Everybody's immune system is different, and so handles/controls the infection differently, even if they have the same strain.
