MMR effects cd4 count
Jul 27, 2008
Doctor, How long after having an MMR vaccination should one wait before testing the cd4 count? Is the previous questioner's response typical. Does this drop in count reflect a drop in the total amount of cd4 cells in the body or merely a redistribution of cd4 cell to the lymph nodes? Thanks so much for all you do for HIV+'s.
Response from Dr. Holodniy
I would wait about one month. Your other question is a good one. Although we don't know exactly, it is likely to be a redistribution, rather than failure of production, given the usual rise after immunization or certain infections.
