| CD4 Percentage and illness May 17, 2008 My CD4 percentage is in a state of flux. I have been positive for 9 years and it has always hovered arond 27 to 31%. I caught herpes a few years ago and have had a chronic and painful sinus infection for over a year. I have noticed a change in my percentage. My last bloods were, undetectable, 554 t-cells and 20% cd4. How bad is this? Its been on my mind and I cant sleep at night. Also, when my bloods were drawn i was just getting over the flu. Could this be a factor? |

Your numbers still look pretty good. And yes, the flu can temporarily cause a decrease in your CD4 count and percent. | |||||||||
