HCV just diagnosed
Apr 13, 2008

just got diagnosed with Hep C, Gen 1a. My HCV RNA (IU/ML)is 1140000, range -50; HCV RNA (LOG IU/ML) 6.06; log IU/ml -1.70. Is this bad? What about my chances for remission/recovery?

Response from Dr. Holodniy

That HCV viral load is about average. You should discuss your case with a liver specialist to see what degree if liver damage you might have and whether treatment is indicated or not.
