| CD4 % and Absolute Mar 22, 2008 My recent labs on Feb 08 come out with CD4 % = 14 and CD4 absolute = 415 with VL about 30,000. 6 months before, CD4% = 16 CD4 absolute = 416 VL about 70,000. And 1 year before CD4% = 15 CD4 abosolute = 474 VL about 20,000 Should I start drugs? My CD4 absolute seems to be OK but CD4 % so low. My general health now is fine. Thank you very much.. |

Response from Dr. Holodniy
You are on the bubble. You are right to be concerned about the CD4%. The absolute CD4 count is disproportionately high compared to the percent. That means to me that your immune system is probably somewhat more impaired than your absolute CD4 count suggests. that all said, I would recommend treatment. | |||||||||
