meaning of cd4 count of 469 Feb 9, 2008 im a 21 year old lady who was diagnosed with hiv nov 2007 after an outbreak of shingles with a cd4 count of 469. i was testes hiv negative in jan 2005,when does a cd4 count drop to 469 like that if i contracted the disease in the year 2007. im so mad and angry everyday with myself and the man who infected me my dreams are over |

 A normal CD4 count is between 500-1500. In most people who become HIV infected, we don't know what the CD4 count was before HIV infection. So you may not have lost many CD4 cells if you started at the lower end of the normal range. | ||||||||
