Viral load count
Oct 28, 2007
Hi, i am a chronic hep b carrier and i have done 2 tests within 1 month... my viral load count has increased since the first test from 1.0x10^7 to 1.0x10^9
What does this imply and what are the consequences of high viral load count when all my other functions and cell counts are normal? Should i be worried or be seeking treatment?
Response from Dr. Holodniy
HBV viral loads tend to run quite high. Your numbers are within the range we see for this infection. The increase between tests, although significantly higher is not clinically significant. A discussion with your doctor is warranted about starting treatment.
