| cd4 cells syphilis and HIV May 21, 2007 I've had hiv for 20+ years, and my cd4 cells have been good for 12 years (about 600+) I had one low count of 99 12 years ago after my partner died, but I've been ok until recently, I just got a +ve syphilis result and 300 cd4 count. I am being treated for syphilis, what is the likelihood that my cd4 count will recover? |

Response from Dr. Holodniy
If your CD4 count has been maintained in the 600s all along and you just got one value at 300, it is likely that this is either temporary as a result of syphilis or a lab error. Given you have now been treated, I would predict your counts will be back up on the next test. | |||||||||
