HBV with Stage 3 Fibrosis

Mar 11, 2007

Dear Sir,

I really appreciate your response as I fear that I wont live long. That itself is killing me more than Hep B.

Here are my Lab results

I was diagnosed with Hep B last month; AST=83, ALT-163. Total billirubin is 0.8 and Albumin is 4.1. I also have Positive Surface antigen and Core AB. Negative E Antigen. DNA Count is 7910000. Alpha-Fetoproteins is in range 3.7 ng/mL. Liver Biopsy came up with Stage 3 Fibrosis and Grade 3 inflammation. I do not drink or smoke and my two children (Vaccinated) were tested negative. My wife (not vaccinated) tested negative.

What would be the course of treatment now and how long will I live? Please let me know

Kindest Regards

Response from Dr. Holodniy

I assume you have consulted a liver specialist about treatment. The biopsy shows moderate liver damage, but your blood lab tests look pretty good. Treatment for HBV would I am sure be recommended.
