CD4 # down, CD4% up
Feb 24, 2007

Dear Dr Holodniy,

Facts: Seroconverted Sept 06. 15/01/07: VL 59, TC 920, TC% 34%. 16/02/07: VL: Undectable, TC 700, TC% 39%. Not on medication nor have I ever been. Am generally well & fit.

Question: How is it that my CD% has increased, but my CD4 has decreased? Also, almost all other areas of my immunity (lymphocites, cd8, cd16 etc) declined fairly significantly.

Since I am undetectable, could it be other factors affecting my immunity. My naturopath claims it might have something to do with intense weight lifting.... avid bodybuilder weighing 215lbs. Thanks

Response from Dr. Holodniy

Although both values are in the normal range, it is likely the decline is a result of your total lymphocyte count declining, as the percentage increased slightly, than because of any other reason.
