Funny case

Hello!

I have a funny storry, a friend of mine has HIV infection in may and in august he got negative screening test and in october he got the positive result,with 416000copies and 481 CD4 cells in this month he shows 515 CD4 (23%) and 1210 CD8(54%).

How can this storry understanable?

It is certainly possible to have a negative HIV screening test and then a positive HIV viral load test some weeks to months later.
